CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that incorporates weightlifting, gymnastics, and traditional cardio exercises all together to increase overall health and fitness.
CrossFit is defined as constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity. Constantly varied workouts, exercises, time domains, rep schemes etc will continue to challenge the body to adapt to different stimulus. Functional movements are, in short, how our bodies are designed to move: Push, pull, jump, squat, run, pick things up and put them down. Functional movements are large compound movements that are safe, efficient, and powerful. These movements will increase work capacity like nothing else. Intensity is important for achieving results. Intensity is relative to each person and will increase after correct mechanics of movements are in place.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience or limitation. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with chronic disease, high level athletes, and military personnel. This is possible by scaling the load and intensity of workouts to meet anyone at their level.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, mountain bike riders, housewives, and grandparents have found their best fitness from the same regimen.
